Korean has become popular in recent years mainly because of the growing popularity in Korean KDrama and Kpop music like Gangnam style.

  1. Korean has 80 million speakers and South Korean are the 13th largest economy in the world. This means that if you want to do business, study or work in Korea then you should learn Korean to help you along.
  2. Korean alphabet is easy to learn, just have a look at our beginners section and you can learn the hangul alphabet in a hour or two.
  3. The Korean alphabet has very distinct sounds and once you have learnt the language it is unlikely that you can mispronounce the words.
  4. Korean grammar is different to that of English language where the verb comes in the end, but once you have mastered it, it becomes a very easy language to learn.
  5. In Korean there is no difference in plural and singular subjects as the verbs do not change.

Is it hard to Learn Korean?

According to the FSI (Foreign Service Institute) Korean is marked as one of the worlds more difficult languages to learn, however in comparison to other Asian languages such as Chinese and Japanese Korean has some advantages over the other languages.

How is Korean compared to Chinese and Japanese?

Learning the Korean language is as easy as starting to become familiar with the Korean alphabet which is different to that of other languages.
Korean in first glance may look like a series of lines, but compared to that of Chinese mandarin is not as diffucult as it first seems. Chinese is a language that grows organically in structure, whereas Korean is invented.
